Friday

Something to tell in advance - although the concerts were not that special – altogether I had a blast!

Once again we started with the train twosomething to Leipzig. Lars was staying alone at home for the very first time for so many days (and yes, it worked, I recognized my home when I came back…) and I took Mina with me to “kick” her out of the train in Riesa, where my Mum was waiting for her. (Next time we will go before noon… The train was crowded and no, not with gothic people – I don’t know why everybody “normal” has to go to Leipzig for this special weekend…)

Well, I reached Leipzig around 4 in the afternoon and as S. told me I could get my wristband at the main station, this was my plan to do first. But as I couldn’t see any place where to get it, I decided to go to Werk 2 and have a look for wristbands there. I took the tram No. 11 and just could see from inside, that also there I couldn’t get what I wanted. So I sent a SMS to S. that I would reach her home within a few minutes – just in time, as she and U. were just going to leave home – to pick me up from train… They thought I would arrive around 5.

Now I had to hurry up – change clothes, put some make-up on, get the key and put my clothes to my “home” for the next few days – and we went to get the wristbands at Kohlrabizirkus and then S. and U drove me to Werk 2, where I was going to see Tyske Ludder a few hours later, and even more hours later Die Form.

First I saw Leandra, but didn’t like it, and afterwards Staubkind – well, also not that special, just another cross on my “band to see” list.

I liked Tyske Ludder but that was also no surprise.

Next was Henke playing, now I missed some seats – because of the very melodramatic lyrics. And somehow these lyrics reminded me of Sandow – who was first???

The next band playing was Sara Noxx and I didn’t like it… The first song was really nice, some ambient (What about some seats…) – but later it changed into some Anne Clark thing, why don’t they do their own music??? And at least the sound was horrible so I got some headache. Brilliant me – the ear plugs and Aspirin where at home…

When I was thinking about getting some food, or coffee, or beer – or better going home? – I met Heizfrosch and friends and they took me back to the concert hall. After waiting for a while we saw Die Form – finally – and the start was pretty cool, but at least I didn’t like it. It was just the wrong place and wrong time; we could not watch the show because there were too many people in front of us, etc. And at least the couples directly In front of us were pretty strange and made their own “show” – so I just left in the middle of the concert. Reached home around midnight and the surprise was to meet E. there, who actually had planned to go for a weekend trip but this didn’t work out. Not that nice for him, but for me it was so nice to see him again after a few years!

Saturday

Well, I slept long and had nice and relaxed breakfast with E. My plan was to go to the walk at Suedfriedhof (cemetery) and so E. and I went there; he was coming with me to take some pictures (he won a price for some of his photos back home in Brazil!!!). We met at the cemetery gate at 1 p.m. and walked around for a while, and although we were a small group only and it was raining we had fun, especially with some squirrels, and took some very nice pictures. It was also good to have some red whine because it was pretty cold… (thanx to them who brought it!)

I was going to see some lecture by Mark Benecke, but when I reached Werk 2 there were too many visitors already and I had no chance to go in. So I went to the Agra, although the first band I wanted to see (feindflug) was playing after 9 p.m. only. Well, I thought I could meet some friends there, and o it happened that I bumped into R. “Mein Langjähriger” and L. after a few minutes only. A pretty nice couple from Leipzig I met at the Mera Luna last year. With them I walked trough the market hall, they did some shopping, I was just watching.

Later I visited J. at her booth and met T. who asked if I would know where to by a nice shirt, and when I told him and he liked it, he decided I should help him shopping more often … Nice!

Well, I met some more friends, got some food and finally entered the concert hall. Maybe there were the Dolls of Pain playing, but it was not that interesting, neither Vomito Negro (although I liked the band name…) nor Yelworc.

More and more friends were coming and the concert hall at all got pretty much crowded. I was going to meet F., we were in SMS-contact, but had no chance to find him.

The concert of Feindflug was great, as expected, and I left the crowd to have some space for dancing – as I had watched one of their shows in February already, now I could just dance.

The next band playing was VNV Nation, also as good as expected – but the crowd, no air to breathe – there are some food booth inside the concert hall and it smelled like old oil … so I decided to leave but met some friends at the exit, stayed with them, enjoyed the concert and later they took me to the camping site for some chilli-schnapps (good!), lemon-honey-schnapps (much too sweet…!) and some honey wine. While talking I forgot about my plan to see the midnight special… and was just going back home because it was getting pretty cold!

Sunday

As T. called at night, asking if I’d come to the disco with them (Hey boy, I was glad to be at home – I’m no 19 anymore…) he asked if I’d like to go to some indoor pool on Sunday morning. Well, this was some nice idea and so I was waiting for his SMS but instead of his I got an SMS from S., who is one of my MySpace friends but I never met her before in “real live”. So I decided to go and have some coffee with S., and finally T. called in the afternoon and at least – they didn’t find any indoor pool…!

So well, I met S. at Werk 2 at 1 p.m. and we were sitting and drinking some coffee and coke and had some nice talk. It was easy to find each other as there were not that many people around as usually. (???)

At 3 we went to the Agra by tram, I was going to see Noctulus – and this was real fun. For the 1st concert of the day it was a real good atmosphere, it was not that loud and his fans had lots of fun, and we had fun just watching them and him!

I wanted to see Fetisch:Mensch already 2 years ago, but Werk 2 was crowded than so I had no chance to go in. This time I had the chance and used it, and I really liked their music. Also I like Vendemmian.

I didn’t want to see Lacrimas Profundere, so I took a break to get something to eat and just met still some more friends outside.

Went back for Fliehende Stürma and Frank the Baptist, didn’t like both that much. Well, it was not that bad – but just… hm, both sounded like “Well, we’ve got some guitars and someone who likes singing, let’s start a band…”

So I used the time to go to the ladies room – well, that’s some experience at an event like WGT, as there are never ever enough toilettes for ladies and you have to wait… and wait…

So, this time when I was just standing and waiting, someone started talking to me “Hello, you are “me…”!” – “Ummm, yes, I am – and who are you?” – “I’m H. from C.!” – oh, well, another one of my online friends who I never met in real before! What a nice surprise! We met each other more often during this festival and he’s a pretty nice guy.

Well, the next concert was of Umbra et Imago and to tell the truth, I didn’t want to see it. But – as usually if I’m, not on the mood to see some band – it was pretty much fun to watch and to listen!!! So I had a fun time…

ASP was a band I really wanted to see as I really like the music and lyrics, and it was great, as expected. The crowd had real fun, singing along and dancing and in between me and T., who bumped accidentally into me, and when we were all burning (it’s the name of one song…), he went and got some cold drinks – what a nice guy! Later he took me to the camping site were we had some talk with his other friends and his nice girl-friend.

I went back for the midnight-special, Peter Murphy – and it was great! They could play their guitars…! And what he did with his voice – just great – me getting goose bumps…

Well it’s no music I’d like to listen to every day, but this was a real rock concert!

Nevertheless, I left around 3 as I didn’t like to walk back home – and reached home at 3:18 as the bus came exactly when I reached the station – pretty nice…

Monday

As B., one of my host fathers was back from work, we had breakfast together on Monday and I watched some of their photos from one of their last holiday trip, pretty nice pics. Unfortunately my plan, to be at Cinestar at half past 2, didn’t work and I reached that place at 3 – and was going to see a book reading by Christina von Aster. Of course, I was too late and it was sold out, but they told me, if I’d like to have a look at the merchandise booth, I could go upstairs. So I did, as I was going to by one of his books for my son. There someone asked, if I could sing. Sing… yes, I can – and also one other girl said, she could sing. When Mr. von Aster said, he would need some Gospel choir to perform “Hallelujah” on his stage – at least around 50 people “could sing” – and so I was standing on stage, singing “Hallelujah” every now and then and had lots of fun, especially by listening him reading.

Afterwards I was in a hurry to take the book back home and went straight to the Kohlrabizirkus, expected it being crowded and no coming in for me… But – lucky me – I came in without any problems and met some Dresden friends inside. I don’t know exactly, if Volkmar was the first band I saw this day, at least it was nothing special. What I was going to see were Cat Rapes Dog, Agonoize and KMFDM later that night.

Before there was Alice in Videoland performing, and it’s always a pity for the more unknown bands, that no one really likes their shows and no one is really interested in, they should better play some small clubs, so my opinion.

Well, Cat Rapes Dog was not bad. Funny was, when I asked S. what kind of music they play, she told me “They are so bad – you will like them for sure!”

There’s not much to tell about Agonoize – I had fun dancing their entire concert! What a pity they didn’t play the usual before-concert CD, but the concert itself was pretty cool.

KMFDM were a blast, loud and fast and as good as I hoped…

I went back home with H. and his friends and we had a funny trip trough Leipzig – and so WGT 2009 was over.

Once again I have to thank everybody who was around my and made the weekend as special as it was. I was happy to be able to enjoy it more than last year, when I was so sick.

Sorry to all the friends I met there and didn’t name here.

Resume: I’m not sure if I will go for the next WGT, as the most fun was meeting friends and not the concerts. But I have nearly 12 month left to think about it… To the most people I met in Leipzig I can say: See you at M’era Luna!!!
